OUR STORY
Vilma Vaccaro, founder of Journey Towards Salvation Inc., is a resident of Rockland County since 1983, originally from the Bronx. Vilma’s first acquaintance with the poverty, hunger and homelessness that exists in Ethiopia today was as a missionary in January 2011. Vilma traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as a missionary with the World Mission Alliance and experienced first hand the impact and devastation facing the men, women and children, particularly the children.
After Vilma returned home from Ethiopia, she was grief stricken and heartbroken over the lifestyle these poor people were forced to live under. While reflecting back on the conditions that exist in Ethiopia, Vilma believes she received a revelation from God unveiling his plan of salvation for the homeless.
As a result, Vilma set out to open a non profit organization, An organization designed to transform, with the help of Jesus Christ, the lives of the men, women and children caught in the cycles of poverty and homelessness.
