Shelters

Shelters

shelters_imageEthiopia is one of Africa’s poorest countries, having a population of 77 million people, living below the poverty line. The government estimates that 100,000 homeless children live on the streets of Ethiopia. They are always cold and sick, these children have serious health problems. More often than not, they will have serious psychological problems and these can take a lengthy time to sort out.

Many street children are orphaned on account their parents passed away due to a disease or they just could not afford to take care of them. Street children are exposed to numerous forms of exploitation, including sexual exploitation, abuse and child labor. Very few government services are designed to help orphans.

Your generous donations provide a healthy meal and a warm safe haven to homeless children living in the streets of Ethiopia. Furthermore, your contributions give the gift of transition from homelessness to self reliance which breaks the cycle of homelessness for children. Our objective is to raise awareness of the substantial needs of the homeless children and how essential your financial contributions really are to these poor of poorest children.

OUR VISION

shelters_image2Our vision is to open up a homeless shelter that will accommodate about 100 homeless children who are presently occupying the streets of Ethiopia from the ages of 5-15 years. To provide the children with a warm, comfortable, safe haven and protection from danger, the cold, disease and exploitation which lurks in the streets at night. Our loving, Godly oriented staff of adult volunteers and missionaries will be available as support. Different shifts of the day and night to mentor the children and pray with them as well as strengthen their faith through the power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
